• Mediserve was founded in 1999 by a Registered Nurse (Miles Cue) and a Doctor (Dr Neelesh Bhasin) from the WA Goldfields region in Laverton and Leonora.
• With no office at the start, we interviewed a nurse in a Dr’s surgery who had no idea we were going to use their office.  The problem is we were late to arrive and the nurse was waiting in their reception looking a bit lost as she applied to work and not see a doctor!
• When we first started calling country hospitals in the beginning, one of the very first calls went to a Hospital Director in the Wheatbelt.  When asked what our process for checking nurses was, Miles answered, "Sorry, can I ring you back?" Miles then consulted with Neelesh, and rang the Director back to say, "Oh yes, our process is to do a reference check."  She laughed, but thankfully gave us the opportunity to supply nurses.
• We once drove a nurse to Meekatharra Hospital (a total of 16 hours' return trip) because she had missed a flight and was desperately needed for night duty. On the return trip we ran out of petrol at 2 am - that was scary!
• Joondalup Hospital was the place that Mediserve placed their very first city nurse. Karyn B was the Nurse Manager who gave us the opportunity, and later became referral enabling us to supply to Royal Perth Hospital. Thirteen years later, we thankfully were able to catch up with Karyn at a hospital in Brisbane. We had the opportunity to give her a hug and sincerely thank her for what she did for a fledgling nursing agency.
• Mediserve has been operating for over 25 years with offices in each capital city, but our greatest achievement has been to assist our nurses, their families, Nurses Managers/Directors, our office staff with their needs, and of course help the Community.
• We have been helping charities even before Mediserve started.  Your support has enabled us to continue making a difference. Big thanks to all of you!
